Recess is more than a “break” from academics — it’s an important part of every student’s day at school. However, it is often a negative experience for students and staff. This presentation is designed to help the physical educator who is often asked to “fix” or “help” with recess. The webinar is packed with resources that include research on the value of recess, common issues, and, most importantly, strategies to improve recess for all students.

Description
Learning Objectives:
1) Participants learn the research that identifies the benefits
of recess; improved behavior, improved academic scores, and improved social
skills with peers and adults.
2) Common
issues that occur on the playground will be identified based on a 6-year
research study.
3) Participants will be given the research-based solutions to
the common issues. In addition, helpful strategies to advocate for the recess
and improve recess at their school.
